This amount is evenly distributed to serve six months of winter. If you qualify for the help, you receive £67 in October and November, and £66 for the remaining four months.

How Will I Get These Benefits?

The money will be directly credited to your bank or credit account, depending on what you use to pay off your energy debts. Some people may also automatically receive the bill, meaning the funds will be sent directly to your supplier. However, this option is available for direct debit customers. If you use a prepayment meter, an automatic credit will be credited to your smart prepayment meter every first week of the month.

How To Receive the Energy Discount

How you will receive this help depends on the system you have:

  • People with smart meters will receive an automatic top-up to their meters every first week of the month.
  • People with prepaid meters will receive a letter from their energy provider with a voucher to redeem at the nearest post office.
